As SD62 schools are closed on Tuesday, February 12th, the Emergency Reunification Workshop scheduled for the evening of the 12th at Sangster Elementary will be re-scheduled. When a new date is confirmed we will communicate this to our parent community.
With snow predicted over the next few days, the District will monitor conditions. Staff and families, please listen to the radio in the mornings for updates and closure announcements. The District will try to push notifications online, but this may not be an option if internet servers are down.
If schools do open and conditions worsen over the day, the District will keep families up to date throughout the day as best they can. We encourage parents to have back-up plans for the end of the school day if they are not able to get to the school.
With the possibility of snow this week and next, please take a look at our weather procedures. Schools remain open if at all possible, including during snowfalls. It is ALWAYS up to the parent to decide whether or not to send their child to school during inclement weather.

We will also post to the SD62 Website: http://www.sd62.bc.ca/
Thanks for taking the time to look through this,

SAVE THE DATES: Tuesday February 12th & Thursday March 7th, 2019
To enhance the level of emergency preparedness for all schools, the District will be implementing Standard Emergency Reunification Procedures to ensure the safety and well being of all students in the aftermath of a disaster. This process includes staff training, parent education, and an emergency reunification drill for staff, students, parents, and authorized guardians at all schools.
Sangster Elementary will be practising this Emergency Reunification Drill on Thursday March 7th. Parents and all authorized guardians listed on a Students Release Form are asked to participate. This will be an opportunity for parents to exercise their family’s emergency plan in conjunction with the school’s emergency plan.
A Workshop on Emergency Planning will be held on Tuesday February 12th in the School Gym, 6:30 – 7:30 pm.

Thank you to the Sangster PAC, parent volunteers, and the West Shore Lions Club for a fantastic Pancake Breakfast! The students were all smiles as they enjoyed a delicious breakfast!
The Lions Club is able to provide these community events through their fundraising efforts and special events. Please consider attending their upcoming events on March 8th at the Langford Legion as they host 50’s Rock & Roll Band Rukus. Advanced tickets are $15 and tickets at the door are $20. Please see the West Shore Lions Club website for further information http://e-clubhouse.org/sites/westshorebc/
Westshore Lions and Sangster PAC are excited to provide all Sangster students with a pancake breakfast on Thursday, January 17th at 8am. Everyone is welcome to attend (suggested donation: $2).
In order to make this a fun and successful event, we need parent volunteers to help hand out pancakes and drinks, as well as assisting with set-up (after school the day before) and take down after breakfast. We require a minimum of 10 volunteers in order to host this event. You can sign-up via the whiteboard (found in the undercover area) or please contact Brittney Corkery at email@example.com
Hope to see you all there!
